The 818e is part of the return of Taylor’s Grand Orchestra (GO) body shape, the largest of the Taylor family. A veritable canon of a guitar loved by strummers and solo players alike for its stunning headroom, throw and breadth of sonics - It sports solid Indian rosewood back and sides that when used in such mass not only does it provides epic levels of low end rumble and warmth, but high end chime, a slightly scooped mid-range and complex overtones that radiate through the octaves.
Bold and emphatic yet also touch sensitive enough to charm the more delicate playing styles - on the 818e a solid sitka spruce top coupled with V-Class bracing ramps up levels of output further and provides after-burners on levels of sustain and projection, whilst offering improved intonation right the way up the neck.
As a nod of appreciation of traditional jumbo guitars, the 818e is presented in non-cutaway with an Antique Blonde, all gloss finish providing a soft glow that completes an overall luxurious look.
Further detailed appointments include nickel tuners, maple binding, a single ring paua rosette and mother of pearl Mission inlays. ES2 electronics and a deluxe western floral hardcase are the icing on this big slice of cake.
