Taylor’s Grand Theater (GT) body shape is all about fun - designed for players of all disciplines and completely redefining what is possible to achieve sonically from a small guitar.
A travel-size instrument with a full-size voice thanks to C-Class bracing (essentially V-Class bracing for small guitars) designed to harness as much sonic horsepower as possible, the non electro GT Urban Ash is the debut model of Taylor’s newest body shape and has a wonderfully full and warm low end, far beyond what you would expect from such a petit instrument.
Essentially a scaled down jumbo, it has physical dimensions in between that of a GS Mini and a Grand Concert, with a unique scale length of 24-⅛ inch making fretting a GT Urban Ash next to effortless - and a custom nut width leaving enough space for everything from finger picking to cowboy chords and everything in between.
Here Urban Ash is the choice of tonewood for the back and sides, responsibly sourced from city trees in need of removing and sonically similar to Honduran Mahogany, so you can expect a warm sound with midrange punch and clarity. Sporting high quality ES2 Expression System electronics.
The GT Urban Ash comes with Taylor’s premium, lightweight Aerocase for maximum protection and easy transport on the road and features an array of tasteful detailing and appointments, from ‘Pinnacle’ inlays, a matte finish on the back and sides which brings out the grain of the wood and also aids resonance, a Koa rosette, Eucalyptus fretboard and tasteful Urban Sienna stain that really frames the wood pairing perfectly.
A parlor-size guitar with a big voice, easy to travel with and is incredibly fun to play?
The GT Urban Ash might be your weapon of choice for gigs, studio work and playing at home for years to come.
