The LX17 uses Roland's SuperNATURAL piano modelling technology to recreate acoustic piano sounds. Rather than replaying a sample recording, the modelling technology takes into account the entire sound creation process of an acoustic piano.

Along with a wide combination of variants, SuperNATURAL technology incorporates additional resonance that an acoustic piano would provide and how the different elements would interact with each other. The result of using this technology is an increased level of responsiveness and a rich sound with complex overtones that is not achievable from using piano samples.

The LX17 also has a new type of keyboard that blends wood and molded material for the best of both worlds; beautiful wooden sides give each key a familiar, rigid mass that feels just right to play, while the durable inner frame means you can enjoy your Roland piano every day for years to come without worrying about reliability.

Roland has incorporated it's 3D ambience technology to optimise your experience when using the LX17 for quiet practice. Roland's 3D ambience takes advantage of the near-field listening environment that headphone use provides and aims to optimise the audio so that it sounds like it's coming from within the piano itself, rather than just redirecting the audio designed for the speaker output.

10 Year Warranty

Roland's 10 year digital piano warranty

Product warranties aren’t the most exciting part of buying new and shiny gear. But they could be the most important – especially if your latest purchase breaks down a week after the warranty expires.
Whether you’ve just bought a new piano, a games console or a washing machine, most of us don’t pay much attention to the warranty that usually comes with it. Maybe it’s because we don’t expect our latest ‘object of desire’ to go wrong; we know it won’t last forever, but we do expect several years of uninterrupted service.

The law generally does a pretty good job of looking after your basic consumer rights so if the product doesn’t work once you’ve unboxed it, you can expect the retailer to sort it out. But what about the long term, if the product stops working several years after you’ve bought it?

You could pay for an extended warranty – but this hardly seems fair. You’re effectively having to pay extra to insure yourself against faulty workmanship. And with some extended warranty packages running well into three figures, that’s a big, burdensome cost that leaves a very bitter taste.

Alternatively, you could look at manufacturer-provided warranties in a different way. If a manufacturer goes out of their way to provide you with additional cover that is far in excess of what the law requires, doesn’t that tell you something about the quality of their product?

We believe that a manufacturer’s warranty is a statement about how reliable the product is, and so we’d like to say something loud and clear: a Roland digital piano is meant to be played for many years to come, and we’re so confident that it won’t let you down that we’re providing a 10 year warranty, for free, on our HP and LX ranges.

The Roland 10 year warranty protects your piano against failure due to faulty manufacture and is the longest warranty period on the market. We can do this because we’ve been making digital pianos for more than four decades, so we have a pretty good idea of what it means to be reliable, with an exceptional level of durability and craftsmanship inside and out.

A lot can happen in a decade. You could go from being a complete beginner to an accomplished pianist in that time. Or if you bought for your children, you’ll want to make sure your chosen piano will keep them playing for many years to come. Whatever musical path you choose, it’s reassuring to know that your Roland digital piano will be with you every step of the way – today, tomorrow and for years to come.
